International Conference on Geosciences and Earthquake Engineering -
Challenges for Balkan Region (ICGEE-2020)
Academy of Science of Albania coopering to Polytechnic University of Tirana (Faculty of Geology and Mining, Faculty of Civil Engineering, Faculty of Architecture and Urban Planning Institute of Geosciences, Energy, Water and Environment), Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy (Albanian Geological Survey, Construction Institute) are jointly organizing the INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON GEOSCIENCES AND EARTHQUAKE ENGINEERING, CHALLENGES FOR BALKAN REGION (ICGEE), to be held on Tirana, 26 - 28 November 2020. Recently, the western Balkan has experienced Albanian strong earthquake (November 2019, M6.4) which have claimed about 51 lives and caused heavy damages and destructions in a large area from epicentre. Earthquake risks and the diversity of the related fields cause more challenges prove the necessity to present new operative solutions and to innovative methods forth mitigation of such risks. We value your presence and interest in the conference that aims providing the state-of-the-art and challenges in Geoscience and Civil Engineering towards earthquake risk mitigation. During the conference, national and international researchers and stakeholders involved in Geology, Geophysics, Seismology, Civil engineering, Earthquake Engineering, and Earthquake Risk Management will discuss, share and exchange their latest achievements and state-of-the-art. We look forward to your participation for exchanging ideas and advancing the field of Geosciences and challenges in Civil Engineering, and warmly invite you to join us in Tirana, the capital of Albania, a very interesting and enjoyable city to visit.
